Author Guidelines


Papers submitted for publication in Revista MasD should be original and not previously published or submitted for evaluation in any other publication. It will be accepted papers written in English or Spanish.

The paper should be submitted in both PDF format and editable text format: OpenDocument (odt) or MS-Word (doc, docx or rtf), to the following email address: The name of these files and their contents should omit any reference to the identity of the authors or their affiliations. This information should be communicated only in the body of the email.

Papers should not be longer than 8,000 words; book reviews no longer than 1,000 words. The page format will be letter size (8 ½ "x 11") with 2.54 cm margins on all sides, double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12pt and numbering in the lower right corner. The title of the article will be in 14pt size and abstract, keywords and citations and footnotes notes in 8pt size. The header of the paper shall include a title, and possibly a subtitle, adding up no more than 14 words, the abstract, with a maximum of 200 words, and a list of 3 to 5 keywords. Papers in Spanish should include an English translation of title, subtitle, abstract and keywords.

After the header, papers should present a structured development of their contents, with an introduction, a series of chapters or sections, discussion/conclusion and bibliography. Citations shall be presented in APA format (Last Name of Author, Year of Publication: page cited), never in a footnote, while the full citation should be included in the bibliography at the end of text. The papers containing local terms, acronyms, values, etc.., should be described and/or explained in order to ensure complete understanding by foreign readers.

The graphic content may be composed of photos, figures (drawings, diagrams, etc..), graphics and/or tables, which must be perfectly clear and appear listed in the body of the article. The paper may include up to eight graphics. All artwork must be inserted into the text file, in the approximate location in which is requested to be included, and also in separate files (TIFF or JPG format) with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, to achieve a print size of 20 x 15 cm. Each graphic element should be numbered consecutively according to their type and identified by an explanatory legend, including a title and an indication of its source. In case of including tables, they must be formatted in text format and included in the text body, and should not be sent independently or in image format. In case of including photographs or graphics not owned by the authors, you should provide written evidence of the permissions from the authors or original publishers. Otherwise, such content shall not be published in Revista MasD.

The final bibliography should be a list of bibliographic references, in alphabetical order by last name, including only the references cited in the text or graphical content sources. The references must be adjusted to ISO 690 standard (ISO 690-2 for electronic documents and elements).

Copyright of the articles belongs to Revista MasD and Universidad El Bosque, so that authors shall sign an authorization grant in such terms. The papers will be freely available in the Revista MasD website and will be redistributable under the conditions defined by Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 Colombia (CC BY-NC-SA 2.5 CO) License.
